Dr. Daniel Opoku Represents KNUST at The ELearning Africa Initiative in Kigali, Rwanda
The eLearning Africa initiative, founded in 2005 is the leading Pan-African Conference and Exhibition on ICT for Education, Training and Skills Development. This three-day international conference has been held for 14 consecutive years and allows for participants from various countries to share and enhance their knowledge as well as network through plenary sessions, workshops, seminars and debates. This year’s conference, marking its 15th edition, was held in Kigali, Rwanda from the 11th to the 13th of May, and to represent KNUST at this all important conference was Dr. Daniel Opoku.
Dr. Daniel Opoku is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering who has served the university community for many years. He is a professional electrical and electronic engineer with several years of research and development experience in intelligent systems, instrumentation, controls and automation.
The eLearning Africa 2022, at which Dr. Opoku was present, was held under the theme A New Purpose for Education which opened the forum for academics, experts, political leaders and investors to discuss relevant issues touching on: the importance of redirecting education to what are likely to be African countries’ future needs, the use of technology in enabling African countries to respond to their specific needs in context, digital transformation in Africa’s schools, colleges and universities and fueling innovative technologies amongst other issues.
